Practitioners of high-protein/low-carb diets promoted by the likes of Dr Robert Atkins can be an irritating lot, especially when it comes to Chinese meals.
Most Chinese meals are shared – each person has a bowl of rice and all share a few dishes.
Because of the presence of high-protein/low-carb dieters (these people believe that such a diet can make them lose weight rapidly), most of the dishes ordered would have to be meat. Strict high-protein/low-carb dieters won’t even eat vegetables and most will not touch rice.
And because of these same retards, the rest of us usually run out of food real fast. Because these high-protein/low-carb dieters do not eat rice, they just help themselves to the dishes only.
The rest of us eat rice with the dishes. These dieters eat the dishes only. Geddit?
High-protein/low-carb dieters, as a result, are often thought to be self-centered, insensitive people – in the olden days, if you bring home a girlfriend who eats only food and doesn’t touch her rice, your mum will opine that she’s not “wife material.”
I have a friend who simply do not eat with such dieters because they are a major pain.
I think that’s not a bad idea at all.
Better still, don’t eat with these people at all – because of the ketosis triggered by their diets, most of these dieters have very bad halitosis and are no fun to be around with, anyway. Also, those who flirt with high-protein/low-carb diets tend to become very impatient and are highly agitated – they can’t drive without cursing everyone else on the road.
Most grating at times.
For the high-protein/low-carb dieters in my circle – and there are many – please do not think that this is about you – I am NOT responsible for your paranoia please!
