Back from a flight recently.
Landed at T3.
“Good,” I thought, “since the food on board was so crappy that I declined the meal, I’ll go to B2 foodcourt for my mee pok.”
When I got there – there was no place to sit.
This was September 26, a Saturday evening at about 10pm.
Half of Singapore was there.
The place was packed with people – entire families stuffing their faces, giggling teenagers not eating but only drinking and occupying several tables, couples gazing dreamily into each other’s eyes while groping each other in public (Get a room!).
I reckon 99.9% of the people there had nothing to do with air travel.
What does it say about a country whose population spends Saturday evening at the airport?
I was speechless.
