Sushi at Katayama’s

Long time Singapore resident Ryuji Katayama worked for more than ten years as a chef at Kuriya and a couple of months ago bought over a sushi restaurant.

Now he’s his own boss and you can find him at Marui Sushi, on the fourth floor of Cuppage Plaza:

The hooker-infested complex is sleazy as hell with expensive girlie bars catering to the Japanese expatriate crowd, and there’s even a bar exclusively for women, complete with male escorts and gigolos but amidst the smut in the complex, Katayama-san’s sushi joint stands out for its cozy size, homely and intimate ambiance and uber-fresh offerings, airflown from Japan several times a week.
