Sound Investment

Just bought a Philips HTS9140 Soundbar.

Philips was always first in line among the hoards of electronic companies producing great Blu-ray players and home theater audio systems,  however, somewhere along the way, the company invariably failed to keep up with the competition in terms of real value. But now, they’re back with a winner with its HTS9140 Soundbar!

The Philips HTS9140 Soundbar is essentially a 2.1 home theatre system with an integrated Blu-ray player (it plays 3D Blue-ray discs, DVD, VCD, CD and USB devices and can be used to navigate and control an iPhone or iPod) but it also emulates 5.1 surround sound without actually having dedicated speakers surround speakers. This means no clutter! These speakers and the accompanying subwoofer, use psychoacoustics to modify sound waves so that you feel like there are actually more speakers than there are. Philips calls this “Ambisound.”

It is also wireless network ready for easy access to entertainment; I can also experience a rich selection of online services with Net TV or use the DLNA network link to enjoy music and videos from my PC.

Indeed, the Philips HTS9140 sound bar is one of the finest in its class with almost everything we’ve come to expect in a high-end home theater minus the cable clutter.
