The Burnout

Burnout is a psychological syndrome emerging as a prolonged response to chronic interpersonal stressors at work.

The key dimensions of this response are an overwhelming exhaustion, feelings of cynicism and detachment from the job, and a sense of ineffectiveness and lack of accomplishment.

Among others, common causes of burnout include: lack of adequate social support; taking on more than one can handle at work or interpersonally with family and friends; and poor self-care.

The leading measure of burnout is the Maslach Burnout Inventory, developed by Christina Maslach and Susan E Jackson.

Is validated by the extensive research conducted for more than 35 years.

Unfortunately it is not free.

Buy it online from Mind Garden.

Hope that won’t stress you out too much.
