The cigar is a gift from Simon Seah. The cigar is mine, the hand is not. And that’s the story of my life – my destiny has never truly been in my hands.
Ah, February 22nd. If this day were a drink, it’d be a lukewarm pint left behind at last call – flat, forgotten, and carrying the distinct odor of regret.
And if this day were a cigar, it’d be the sad, smelly, soggy stump you’d find abandoned in a plastic ashtray of some crappy bar frequented by lowlifes, still clinging to the faint hope of being relit. But no, this day deserves a full-on DEFCON 1 intervention. Enter: the Habanos Presidencia. This isn’t just a cigar – it’s the James Bond of cigars, the kind that probably has its own entourage and a gold-plated humidor. It’s so exclusive and extremely rare, it’s essentially whispering, “I’m too fancy for you, but go ahead, try me.” Yes sir, this cigar is so bloody fancy and so exclusive, it practically requires its own diplomatic passport. Yes, the Habanos Presidencia. Indeed this isn’t just a cigar, it’s a statement. A “please forget this train wreck of a day” statement.
Apparently, these bad boys are usually reserved by the Cuban government for bribing – er I mean – gifting dignitaries (wink, wink). So, if any world leaders are reading this, consider my day officially diplomatically resolved. No need to send a thank-you note – just maybe a bottle of cheap champagne or a small island. Ha! For everyone else, I’m about to light this sucker up and channel my inner Fidel Castro. Don’t worry, I’m skipping the revolution part – just here for the cigar, the vibes, and the sweet, sweet illusion of being someone important, because if today insists on being a wretched joke since 1957, the least I can do is enjoy the punchline.
Not bad for someone who’s a loser in the Russian roulette of life, huh?
