Came across this on a restaurant website:
We are a small restaurant. For our guests’ convenience, we highly recommend reservations, as walk-ins are typically not available. Reservations are released 30 days in advance at 10:00AM.
NOTE: This “small” restaurant has several branches – it is NOT “a” restaurant, as in, it is not just one restaurant but a chain of several. And you don’t need to have a PhD to know that it is NOT “small.”
Many restaurants do this now – it’s a dirty trick to give the impression their food is so good that’s why it’s impossible to get a seat. They think we Singaporeans are idiots and suckers. They think we have so much time on our hands that we would wait by our phone at 10:00AM to quickly try to make a reservation and pray to God, Jesus, Buddha, Lord Siva, the Dalai Lama, Sai Baba, the Pope, the Prophet Mohammad, Lee Kuan Yew and all the rest of them, that the restaurant will please, please, grant us a seat one month down the road.
Hey, some of us have to work you know.
And of course, in the meantime, paid food bloggers and “influencers” (meaning parasites) will be invited to eat and take photos and flood social media with their “oohhs” and “aahhs” – moaning and groaning as if they are in the throes of a massive sexual orgasm.
It’s so sad some of these scumbags have to resort to such means to make a living.
Singaporeans will even make eat dog shit if some of these food bloggers and “influencers” (many of whom can’t write to save their lives) say that dog shit is nice.
Get smart, idiots.
Wise up, suckers!
Show your parents that the money they spent on your education has not gone to waste.
